
All across the nation ham operators will be setting up their emergency stations for "field day" this weekend.
This is the chance to operate our equipment and verify that in the event of an emergency whether local or national that ham operators can lend assistance to the American people. Safety, health, and welfare messages can and have saved lives.
Many Amateur operators have their own emergency stations set up. With solar, wind and battery power they can operate for an extensive time. Please support our fellow hams in this endeavor. It is a chance for new potential hams to learn about our hobby and
talk to the "Old timers".
Contact your local fire department and they can usually direct you to a licensed amateur operator. Here are some local contacts for the Dallas/McKinney area:

McKinney club will be setting up in Melisa, Texas center jctn hy 5 and 121 and 75, north side of 121. Come out Saturday and see what is going on. Call in freq is 146.74
